What's New
What's New in VectorShop 2.0
The short version: ask VectorShop's AI for a design and what comes back is not a picture — it's a real vector document. Layers, auto layout, components, and color/text/effect styles are already defined, so you can keep editing it the way you'd edit anything made by hand, instead of starting over every time you want a change.
The one thing that changed
AI image generators — including earlier versions of VectorShop's own generation feature — hand you a bitmap. That's fine until you need to change anything: the text is baked into pixels, the layout has no structure to preserve, and a small edit means re-rolling the whole image and hoping the rest doesn't shift. 2.0 changes what the AI actually outputs. Describe a design in a sentence and the AI now produces:
- Auto layout — vertical, horizontal, or stacked containers that hold their composition together when you swap a headline, add a line of body copy, or resize the canvas, instead of a frozen arrangement of shapes;
- Components and symbols — repeated elements (a card in a grid, an icon used three times) are one master with instances, so editing the master updates every copy;
- Color, text, and effect styles — managed as a small system rather than one-off values, so changing an accent color or a heading font once applies everywhere it's used.
None of this is decorative — it's the actual internal structure of the document, the same kind of structure a human designer would build by hand in a vector tool. The AI is generating into that structure directly, not producing an image and calling it done.
Why it matters
The practical difference shows up the moment you want to change something. Need different wording? Click the text and type — the layers around it don't move. Need a square version for one platform and a tall version for another? Resize the canvas and the auto layout reflows instead of falling apart. Want a different accent color across ten repeated elements? Change the style once. And because editing happens locally in the vector document, refining a design as many times as you want costs nothing further — there's no per-edit generation fee, because there's no re-generation involved.
Also in this release
- A dedicated SF Symbol editor — draw a symbol once and all 27 variants (nine weights × three scales) are generated automatically, ready to export as a symbol template for Xcode;
- Faster rendering and editing — large documents and deep layer trees stay responsive;
- A round of stability fixes across the editor.
What it's built on
The vector editor underneath the AI is the same serious tool it's always been: pen tool and Bézier curves, boolean operations, gradients (including mesh gradients), pattern fills, image fills with 9-slice, vector borders, shadow/blur/noise/Liquid Glass effects, and QR codes as native elements. VectorShop imports PSD, SVG, Sketch, PNG, and JPEG as editable material, and exports SVG, PNG, and JPEG with multi-size and icon presets. The editor itself is free, with no watermarks or time limit; Pro unlocks the AI design tools, and AI generation runs on your own model API key rather than credits VectorShop resells.
Try it
VectorShop 2.0 is available now on the Mac App Store. If you run into rough edges or have feedback on the new generation pipeline, the feedback form reaches the team directly — that's exactly the kind of input a follow-up 2.0.x release is for.
